Japan. You heard about it. You saw it. Now what?

The devastation that occurred in Japan is not over. By any means.

This is the full raw footage filmed by some Japanese people on Friday March 11th, 2011, during the tsunami which occurred in northern Japan, following the 8.9 magnitude earthquake.
According to the video, it was filmed in the Miyagi Prefecture (宮城) in the city of Kesennuma (気仙沼市) which has 74,000 inhabitants.

Even if you live under a rock, it is impossible to run away from the tragic news that is still going in Japan. With each passing day, the magnitude of the earthquake keeps increasing; growing in to one of the most devastating earthquakes this planet has ever seen. There's no hiding from this news. From this unfortunate reality.

So the question remains, What are you going to do?

This tragedy reminds me a lot of what happened in Haiti a few years back. It's great to see people come to the aid of a nation that they never visited. Or people they never met. Or know nothing about their culture. People just helping people. It's a wonderful sight. Of course, there are those boneheads who will be ignorant and use such events to say "hey look at me, look at my talent" or "hey look at how much i can piss people off at this time". Forget those fools. Let's focus on the positive today, shall we.

As I always say, turn tragedy into triumph. Let go of all (your) "power" and give it to God. People feel the most helpless when they can't control their surroundings. Brothers and sisters, that's a beautiful thing. To KNOW we are not in control, but giving it up to our Lord Father - our helplessness leads to full control. Having a peace about letting go. So that's what we should aim to do in this time of turbulence. Yes, continue to donate and find different ways to raise awareness. I am not against giving to the Red Cross, but if I have a means to, I would rather donate straight to someone who's in Japan aiding in the relief or donating it to a church or shelter (food, clothes, money). Regardless if you donate $1 or $1,000,000, money will only go so far. Yeah, I said it. Money is a necessity in some sorts, but it is not what saves lives my friends. Hearing the reports and testimonies coming back from Haiti, a place that was stricken with poverty and corruption even before their own natural disaster, I am a firm believer that prayer is whats needed. In the next few weeks, I will be attempting to assemble hundreds (possibly 800?)of youths, pastors, leaders and anyone who has a heart for Japan and a heart to pray. God casted this vision on my heart late last week - to gather the body. To UNITE as ONE VOICE, ONE BODY and lift up our prayers to the heavens KNOWING that our God is a good God and to reach those people in Japan. Let our prayers be for these people to see Jesus Christ in the midst of all this horror. That evil, bitterness, fear and sorrow is not at the forefront, no, but let the light of God shine through in this mess.

I leave you with another way to help. Here is a response from some friends, The Jubilee Project. They produce great videos for great causes. For every view that they receive on this video, they will donate 1 cent to the aid relief efforts in Japan. Please pass it along to your friends!
This short is called, Top Chef featuring Clara Chung, Jennifer Chung & Arden Cho

Thank you for your time and please keep the vision that God has casted on to me regarding an assembly of His people to pray for the heart and the nation of Japan. Also, please don't hesitate to let me know your thoughts as well.

God Bless.
